Former President Barack Obama went to Europe to give a speech in Glasgow and took some swipes at former President Donald Trump in the process.

Obama said: “Of course some of our progress stalled when my successor decided to unilaterally pull out of the Paris agreement in his first year in office. I wasn’t real happy about that.

“The U.S. is back and in moving more boldly. The U.S. is not alone.

“There are times where I feel discouraged. There are times where the future seems somewhat bleak.

“There are times where I am doubtful that humanity can get its act together before it’s too late.

“We can’t afford hopelessness.

“It was particularly discouraging to see the leaders of two of the world’s largest emitters, China and Russia, decline to even attend the proceedings, and their national plans reflect what appears to be a dangerous lack of urgency.
