Former U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr has put Hillary Clinton on notice, warning the former Secretary of State that Special Counsel John Durham is closing in on her.
Barr spoke to Fox News about Durhamโs investigation into the Trump-Russia hoax origins.
As Slay News previously reported, it recently emerged in court documents that Durham has already dragged former Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta in for questioning.
Durham is clearly closing in on Hillary Clintonโs inner circle and the investigations gather momentum.
According to Barr, Durhamโs probe could go all the way to the top.
โI think the question all along has been that this was a campaign-dirty-trick to get the government to investigate allegations โ scurrilous allegations โ about Donald Trump and then leak that right before the election,โ Barr said.
โAnd so that raises two questions: Was the Clinton campaign developing this false information and feeding it in for that purpose? And what was the FBIโs role on this?
โIt tells me that Durham has dug very deep and he has developed some good information and he thinks he can make a criminal case here.
โAnd thereโs never been a doubt in my mind that if thereโs a crime to be proven in and brought by the prosecutor, Durham will do it.
โThe whole classification system is for the president โ itโs his authority that is used for it,โ he said of the Democratsโ new plan to accuse Trump of taking classified information with him to Mar-a-Lago.
โAnd he can classify or declassify things if he wants.โ
WATCH:
Durhamโs recent filing says, for the first time, that Hillary Clintonโs campaign, her lawyers, a tech company, and others formed a โjoint venture or conspiracyโ to smear Trump with false ties to Russia.
Durhamโs argued in his filing that he should be allowed to admit certain evidence in court because โthese parties acted as โjoint venturer[s]โ and therefore should be โconsidered as co-conspirator[s] for the purpose of [Rule 801(d)(2)(E)] even though no conspiracy has been charged.โโ
Ex-House Intelligence Committee Republican investigative counsel Kash Patel said:
โDurham has just shown the whole world what major pieces of our Russiagate investigation revealed.
โHard evidence, emails, and text messages, showing the Clinton Campaign, Fusion GPS, Perkins Coie, Joffe, and the media were all synced in August of 2016 pushing the false Alfa Bank server story, while also all working on the Steele Dossier matter.
โDurham submits all this evidence as โjoint venture conspiracyโ under the rules of evidence.โ
