As violence continues to spiral out of control in Chicago under Mayor Lori Lightfoot, a thug pulled a gun on a Fox News crew while they were filming a report on the street.
The incident occurred on Wednesday while Lightfoot was busy attacking Texas Governor Greg Abbott about community safety rather than addressing the rampant crime in Chicago.
Local Fox 32 reporter Joanie Lum was filming in the upscale River North area.
While she spoke to the camera, a hooded man appeared behind her and pointed a gun directly at the camera.
Lum was doing a report on gun violence in Chicago when the gunman appeared.
As many have pointed out, this was not at 3 am or in a high-crime part of town but rather in an upscale area frequented by tourists.
Good Morning Chicago anchor Anita Padilla said Lum is okay but “shaken.”
“The gun was one foot from her head as he pointed at the camera or cameraman Gary. She is understandably shaken. Thank God she is okay,” Padilla said.

Lightfoot has been met with a backlash over the incident that took place while she was preoccupied with commenting on crime in other states.
“Gov Abbott, instead of coming after my city, take a moment to think about how YOU can stop this carnage,” Lightfoot said to the Texas governor on Wednesday while her own constituents are being terrorized by gun thugs.
“I work day and night to stop the violence.
“I see the suffering. Open your eyes.
“Lives are being lost.
“Be a part of the solution or get the hell out of the way.”
