Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has warned that Democrat President Joe Biden’s brother James “was very much a part of” the family’s alleged illegal business dealings.
Sen. Grassley told CBS News that he is concerned with what he is uncovering about James Biden during his investigations.
Grassley, the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, in investigating the Biden family business dealings.
“We have people with the Biden name, dealing with Chinese business people that have a relationship to the Communist Party,” said Grassley.
“I think James Biden was very much a part of this.”
“These records we got are the first records that have ever been made public on this issue.
“Nobody else has them,” Grassley said before adding that after three years of investigating the Biden family he found James and Hunter’s business dealings “very concerning.”
CBS News has learned that +150 transactions involving either Hunter or James Biden’s global business affairs were flagged as concerning by U.S. banks for further review. @ChuckGrassley spoke exclusively @CBS_Herridge about newly public bank records. pic.twitter.com/N31x5XtbZ5

Robert Weissman, president of the advocacy group Public Citizen said:
“I think Hunter and James Biden should not have entered into those relationships, full stop.
“To the extent those occurred while Joe Biden was the vice president, there’s a worry that they hope to get something direct from the Obama administration.
“I think during the Trump administration, we saw conflicts of an order of magnitude with no precedent in American history.
“And Republicans did not complain.
“Now, there are legitimate issues being raised about Hunter Biden and they’re screaming about them.
“But there’s an obvious hypocrisy.”
CBS News has also learned more than 150 financial transactions involving either Hunter or James Biden’s global business affairs were flagged as concerning by U.S. banks for further review.
Some of those concerns included large wire transfers.
Such banking reviews could point to deeper problems — or they could prove innocuous. Information shared with CBS News does not indicate the outcome of the banking reviews.
In 2019, a bank handling business for members of the Trump family flagged multiple transactions for similar reviews, according to reports in The New York Times.
A spokeswoman for the Trump Organization said at the time that company officials were not aware of the flagged transactions.
From The New York Post:
The documents also indicate that Jim Biden’s company, the Lion Hall Group, received payments directly from Hudson West III, a company jointly owned at the time by Hunter Biden’s law firm Owasco and Coldharbour Capital LLC, which Johnson and Grassley’s September 2020 report linked to Dong.
Other payments to Lion Hall were funneled through Owasco — nearly $1.4 million between August 2017 and 2018.
The money movement caught the attention of US banks, which CBS reported had flagged as suspicious more than 150 transactions involving Hunter or Jim Biden.
