CNN to Fire ‘Big Name’ Star: ‘He Does Not Have a Place in the New CNN’

CNN is reportedly planning to fire one of the network’s “big name” stars, as soon as this week.

Veteran reporter Jon Nicosia has been getting the inside scoop from CNN and has accurately foretold of several of the network’s recent outings.

Nicosia, the president of News Cycle Media, correctly predicted the fall of the Chris Wallace-led CNN+ streaming service and other major news about changes at the network.

His predictions so far have been spot on so his latest scoop should have Jim Acosta, or possibly Anderson Cooper, sweating bullets.

Jake Tapper has a new primetime show and Don Lemon was demoted to the morning show, so they would likely be safe for now.

Also, Tapper just sat with Joe Biden for the Democrat president’s big interview on CNN, so it doesn’t seem like he’s for the chop.

So the only other CNN stars that fit the bill are Acosta and Cooper.

Nicosia said: “SCOOP: Another ‘big name’ about to exit @CNN. (Stay tuned).

“Discovery Executive: ‘He does not have a place in the new CNN. He reminds us of the Zucker period we are looking to move far from.

“‘The only reason he is still on air was not to look like we were ‘cleaning house’ for political reasons right after the closing.’

“I agreed not to report the name until the end of the week,” Nicosia added.

CNN’s chief nat sec correspondent and former Obama staffer Jim Sciutto has been put on leave after a CNN internal investigation.

Sciutto suffered a serious fall in Amsterdam coming home from a reporting trip to Ukraine.

He has been directed by CNN to address a “personal situation.”

According to The Daily Beast, CNN employees are rattled:

After Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav said during a company-wide town hall last week that he would give branded vests to all employees, some CNN staffers have a message for their overlords:

Keep your cheesy gifts.

Indeed, while layoffs and cutbacks continue to roil CNN, as Warner Bros. Discovery slashes billions from the budget, some network staffers have grown tired of Zaslav’s approach.

During last week’s town hall, he reassured staffers that despite the recent penny-pinching “we are not for sale”—an attempt to squash rumors of a Comcast merger—and made no mention of any pending layoffs.

While trying to lighten the mood, Zaslav, who is famously fond of wearing branded vests, declared he would give one away to everyone.

Some CNN staffers mocked the idea: “Vest + layoffs we love to see it. True start-up energy,” one network employee snarked in a CNN group chat, adding: “A f*cking vest??!”

One CNN on-air talent told Confider that network staffers who participated in the call “felt it had no relevance to us” and that even though Zaz mentioned CNN at the top of the call, they felt like they’d “tuned into the wrong town hall” given how little it concerned them.
