Damar Hamlin Had to Be Resuscitated Twice after Massive Heart Attack

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin had to be resuscitated twice by medical professionals after suffering a massive heart attack on the field during Monday night’s NFL game with the Cincinnati Bengals.

As Slay News reported, 24-year-old Hamlin collapsed mid-game and received emergency medical treatment.

He was administered CPR on the field for nine minutes before being rushed to the hospital.

The football star is still reportedly in critical condition.

It was later confirmed on Tuesday morning that Hamlin had suffered a “cardiac arrest.”

However, it has yet to be explained why the fit and healthy NFL player’s heart stopped suddenly.

Reports are now emerging that Hamlin’s heart attack was so severe that he had to be resuscitated twice.

“His heart had went out so they had to resuscitate him twice,” Hamlin’s uncle Dorrian Glenn reportedly told CNN.

“They resuscitated him on the field before they brought him to the hospital and then they resuscitated him a second time when they got him to the hospital.

“They sedated him just to give a better chance for him to just continue to heal better.

“We are just taking it day by day,” Glenn explained.

“It seems like he’s trending upwards in a positive way.”

“Right now they’ve got him on a ventilator.

“They are trying to get him to breathe on his own.

“He is still in ICU and sedated while they continue to administer medical treatment.

“I am thankful for the staff that have been working with him.”

Glenn added that Hamlin does have some damage to his lungs, hence the use of a ventilator.

“It was truly scary seeing what we saw yesterday,” Glenn told NFL.com.

“It was a gut punch to see that.

“But I am thankful he is still here and still fighting.

“It has been heartbreaking. I’ve been up for 24 hours.

“It is good to support my nephew and be by his side.

“It’s tremendous to see the love and support there is for him.

“It’s truly amazing. It’s still very much day by day.

“Once he gets out of the ICU I will feel better.

“My nephew is humble,” Glenn said.

“He is going to be floored by the love.

“He is a genuine, positive guy from the toy drive to his coaching clinic.”

The Bills gave an update on Hamlin’s condition as he remains in the ICU.

“His heartbeat was restored on the field” and he was transferred to the medical center “for further testing and treatment,” the Bills team tweeted on Tuesday.

Bills players were visibly stunned as their teammate received life-saving treatment on the field.

Close friend and family rep Jordon Rooney told CNN and GMA that the NFL star is a “fighter,” but his family is “worried.”

Hamlin’s family was at the game when he collapsed and his mother Nina traveled with him to the hospital in the ambulance.

Doctors say that Hamlin’s vitals are “back to normal” and they are running tests on him to see what caused the sudden collapse.
