Michael Fanone, the anti-Trump DC police officer who has become a favorite of the liberal media since January 6, has quit his job with the force to begin a new career at CNN.
Fanone will now serve as a law-enforcement expert for CNN, a network on which he has already made several appearances.
Fanone’s choice to join CNN apears to fly in the face of his stated commitment to law and order.
The “news” network is well known for inciting fiery but “mostly peaceful” riots against police departments.
The former officer has made himself one of the chief spokesmen for the supposedly traumatized police officers who were present at the Capitol on January 6.
Michael Fanone will likely play his part as media coverage ramps up around the one year anniversary.
Since riot, Fanone has publicly criticized the lawmakers and others who downplayed the events, The Washington Post reported.
The 20-year police veteran officer has previously appeared on national television, including on CNN, where he has warned about threats to democracy, according to The Post.
Fanone says he did not support President Donald Trump in 2020 but did vote for him in 2016.
“Clearly there are some members of our department who feel their oath is to Donald Trump and not to the Constitution,” Fanone said, per The Post.
