Democrat Congressman Warns ‘Far-Left Celebrity’ AOC to Stay Away from His Primary

Texas Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar has slammed “far-left celebrity” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), warning her to stay away from his primary race.

Cuellar trashed his colleague Ocasio-Cortez for working against him by campaigning for his primary challenger.

He warned AOC to go back to New York and take care of the people in her district “before taking failed ideas to South Texas.”

Ocasio-Cortez will campaign in Texas this weekend for progressive House candidates including Jessica Cisneros, a Laredo immigration attorney who is challenging Cuellar.

“This election is taking place in the 28th Congressional District of Texas- not New York City,” Cuellar said.

“The voters will decide this election not far left celebrities who stand for defunding the police, open borders, eliminating oil and gas jobs, and raising taxes on hard working Texans.

“Members should take care of their own district before taking failed ideas to South Texas.

“It’s called conscience,” he said of why he voted against the Democrats’ pro-abortion bill.

“I am a Catholic, and I do believe in rights, right to life, and it’s just a conscious, sometimes people vote because of political, they think just because Democratic or Republican issue, for me it’s just a matter of conscience.”

He said of an ongoing investigation into his dealing with a foreign country:

“There is an ongoing investigation that will show there was no wrongdoing on my part.
