Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) has claimed that her “neighbors” and “loved ones” were absent from Thanksgiving celebrations this year because they had allegedly been “abducted & deported.”
The congresswoman appeared to be referring to the illegal aliens, many of whom were violent criminals, who have been deported during President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
The claims emerged while Americans across the country gathered with family to celebrate Thanksgiving,
However, Pressley used the holiday to push a familiar left-wing narrative.
She is suggesting that dinner tables were marked by “empty seat[s]” due to people being “abducted & deported.”
The Massachusetts Democrat also claims that “mass incarceration” was responsible for people, presumably criminals, being missing from Thanksgiving celebrations.
In a social media post on X, Pressley wrote:
“This Thanksgiving, I’m thinking of our neighbors with an empty seat at the dinner table.
“Those with loved ones abducted & deported from their families.
“Those we lost due to gun violence, mass incarceration, & more.
“A more just America is possible, if we fight for it.”

Pressley’s comments come as President Trump’s administration continues its crackdown on illegal immigration.
The Trump administration has been reversing the permissive border policies that defined the Biden era.
Another member of the progressive “Squad,” Rep. Summer Lee (D-PA), used the holiday to claim that Thanksgiving reminds some Americans of “stolen land and broken treaties.”
“Thanksgiving is a time of gratitude and community for many, but it’s also a reminder of stolen land and broken treaties for others,” Lee wrote on X.
“As we give thanks today, let’s also honor Indigenous communities by committing to the fight for sovereignty, justice, and freedom.”

Pressley has made similar statements in the past.
On Columbus Day, last month, she declared:
“Happy Indigenous People’s Day!
“We are all on stolen land.”
“And while Republicans try to whitewash American history, we acknowledge our country’s role in inflicting trauma on our Indigenous neighbors,” she added.
“We’ll keep celebrating their contributions, centering Native voices in our policymaking, & building a more just, equitable future.”
