Democrats just gave up the game in a desperate move to try to rebrand Biden’s next spending bill as an inflation buster, not an inflation causer. “Want to fight inflation? Support Build Back Better,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said.
Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., said inflation is “a legit concern” but, “we think there are provisions in there that would address people’s concerns.”
Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., wasn’t buying the rhetoric that adding $1.7 trillion to the economy will lower inflation saying: “There’s no one pushing back saying, ‘Oh, this is just a fluke, it’s going to fly by in no time at all. We’ve gone past that.”
GOP Senator Rick Scott said if they push through more spending it will backfire on the desperate Dems.
“This is going to be devastating for them,” Scott said. “It’s devastating to poor families and people on fixed income. It’s going to really hurt the Democrats.”

Consumer prices jumped by 6.2 percent last month, the biggest inflation surge in more than 30 years. About half of Americans overall blame Biden for rising costs, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released this week.
Republicans, meanwhile, are seeking to create political pain for Democrats over inflation and other economic concerns. They continued to argue Tuesday that the legislation would worsen inflation, citing climate policies that they say would raise fossil fuel energy costs.

House Democrats are eyeing a Friday vote on the $1.75 trillion climate and benefits package at the heart of President Biden’s domestic policy agenda.
Party leaders are racing to approve the bill and send it to the Senate before the week-long Thanksgiving recess, which begins this weekend, and some are still floating the idea that the legislation could receive a vote as early as Thursday.
But members of the Democratic whip team, after huddling with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other party leaders in the Capitol basement Wednesday morning, emerged predicting the vote is more likely to come Friday.
