DeSantis: Doctors Who ‘Disfigure’ Children with Transgender Surgery ‘Need to Get Sued’

Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has dropped the hammer on “woke” doctors, demanding that health professionals who “disfigure” children with transgender surgery “get sued.”

DeSantis slammed doctors who perform sex change surgeries on young kids during a press conference this week.

The governor declared that these doctors need to be held legally liable for their actions.

DeSantis talked about the need to defend children from being put through, what the political Left has proclaimed is, “gender-affirming care.”

“But they don’t tell you what that is, is they are actually giving very young girls double mastectomies, they want to castrate these young boys,” DeSantis insisted.

“That’s wrong and so we’ve stood up and said, both from the health and children well-being perspective, you don’t disfigure 10, 12, 13-year-old kids based on gender dysphoria.”

“Eighty percent of it resolves anyways by the time they get older,” DeSantis continued.

“So why would you be doing this?”

“I think these doctors need to get sued for what’s happening,” DeSantis concluded.

DeSantis’s remarks came after he sought to dispense with any confusion the media or educators may have about what can and can’t be taught in classrooms when school starts this fall.

The governor has championed a law aimed at returning to academic basics.

His move comes amid the Left’s increasing emphasis on imposing a “woke” agenda onto children.

Gov. DeSantis’s tweet followed a Washington Post report that claimed Florida school officials are “plagued by confusion and uncertainty about what a raft of new laws.”

They needn’t be, DeSantis said.

“As students head back to their classrooms this fall, I’m happy to clear up any ‘confusion’ the media may have about appropriate curriculum:  ✅ Math, Reading, Writing  ❌ CRT, Sexualized Content, Transgender Ideology,” DeSantis tweeted.

“Florida schools will educate children, not indoctrinate them.”

In April, DeSantis signed House Bill 7, which, according to an explainer of the bill, stated that Florida education would not include “indoctrinating students with CRT principles such as:”

Members of one race, color, national origin, or sex are morally superior.

A person, by virtue of his or her race, color, national origin, or sex is inherently racist, sexist, or oppressive.

A person’s moral character or status as either or oppressed is necessarily determined by his or her race, color, national origin, or sex.

Such virtues as merit, excellence, hard work, fairness, neutrality, objectivity, and racial colorblindness are racist or sexist.

“No one should be instructed to feel as if they are not equal or shamed because of their race,” DeSantis stated.

“In Florida, we will not let the far-left woke agenda take over our schools and workplaces.

“There is no place for indoctrination or discrimination in Florida.”
