Twitter’s new boss Elon Musk is running a poll to ask users whether they want President Donald Trump’s account reinstated on the social media platform.
As of early Saturday morning, at the time of publishing, the poll has received a staggering 9.4 million votes with just over 12 hours left.
The vote is currently tipped with 52% in favor of Trump’s return, with 48 percent against.

Musk has a following of nearly 117 million on the platform.
One user commented that Musk’s polls have started to become “statistically significant,” given the large number of followers he has.
The same commenter added that Twitter should have an “All Users” poll where the poll would be seen by every single user.
Musk replied, “When polls are about a significant question, even those who don’t follow me tend to hear about it.
“That said, I agree with the idea of an all-user poll.
“Should also be an all-user by country poll.”
Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial contender Kari Lake replied to Musk’s Trump poll with an “eyes” emoji.
Meanwhile, Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said, “You kind of promised you would….”
Trump was suspended on Twitter following the Jan. 6 Capital breach incident in which he was falsely accused of inciting violence.
During his rally on January 6, 2021, Trump specifically urged his supporters to protest peacefully and lawfully.
Trump had amassed nearly 90 million followers before the suspension.
Musk had called the ban on Trump “flat-out stupid” and that “It alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice.”
He said that bans should be reserved for bots, or scam and spam accounts.
As Slay News reported, Musk announced Friday that he had lifted the bans on several prominent accounts.
He lifted the suspension on the accounts of Dr. Jordan Peterson, Kathy Griffin, The Babylon Bee, and others.
In a tweet announcing the move, Musk said the decision about Trump’s account will follow later.
