Elon Musk Officially Abandons Democrats, Speaks at GOP’s Wyoming Retreat on Same Day Liz Cheney Defeated

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has officially completed his move to abandon the Democratic Party by speaking at the Republicans’ Wyoming retreat this week.

The tech mogul spoke at the GOP event on the same day Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) suffered a crushing primary defeat from President Donald Trump-endorsed challenger Harriet Hageman.

Musk said earlier this year that he always voted for Democrats but was switching to vote for Republicans in the future.

He then followed through on that promise in June and voted for a Republican candidate for the first time ever.

Musk voted for Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX), who won the special election for Texas’ 34th Congressional District shocking the Dems in the process.

Now the billionaire has officially sealed the deal by attending and speaking at a fundraiser retreat in Wyoming hosted by House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on the same day Cheney lost big.

The event was held at a resort in Teton Village, near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Musk took part in a fireside chat with donors, House members, and Republican candidates.

Axios reported that Musk suggested the country would prosper if Republicans “stayed out of people’s bedrooms” and Democrats stayed “out of people’s wallets,” according to attendees.

He celebrated free markets and warned of the dangers of socialism — messages that were well-received by the audience.

Asked by a donor what the Republican Party needed to do better, the South African-born Musk replied that it should be more compassionate to potential newcomers, noting that he chose America because of its opportunities.

Immigrants, he said, are vital to maintaining a dynamic economy.

Before the dinner, Musk tweeted: “To be clear, I support the left half of the Republican Party and the right half of the Democratic Party!”

Musk has previously hinted he likes Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for president in 2024.

In a post on social media, outgoing Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) appeared angered by Musk’s appearance.

“Guarantee you that McCarthy was bragging about how he knew Musk,” Kinzinger seethed on Twitter.

“He does that. Braggs about his famous friends.

“McCarthy personally resurrected Trump and is responsible for him Elon Musk tells GOP elite at donor retreat to be more compassionate.”

However, as Kinzinger should know, SpaceX has operations in Bakersfield, California, which is in McCarthy’s district.
