Elon Musk Reminds AOC Who’s Boss after She Questions How He Runs Twitter: ‘Your Feedback Is Appreciated, Now Pay $8’

Twitter CEO Elon Musk reminded Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) who’s boss after the New York Democrat questioned his decision to charge people for their coveted blue checkmarks.

Musk announced the fee structure on Twitter saying:

“Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bullshit.

“Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.

“Price adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity

“You will also get: Priority in replies, mentions & search, which is essential to defeat spam/scam.

“Ability to post long video & audio. Half as many ads.”

AOC said:

“Lmao at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that ‘free speech’ is actually a $8/mo subscription plan.”

Musk said: “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8”

He then trolled “socialist” AOC by popsting a picture of her merchandise that costs $58.

This is not the first time the two have gone back and forth, however.

Last spring, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted that she was “Tired of having to collectively stress about what explosion of hate crimes is happening bc some billionaire with an ego problem unilaterally controls a massive communication platform and skews it because Tucker Carlson or Peter Thiel took him out to dinner and made him feel special.”

“Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy,” Musk tweeted in response.

Ocasio-Cortez then appeared to tweet back, responding, “I was talking about Zuckerberg but ok,” before apparently deleting her reply, although not before it had been screenshot by some users.
