Elon Musk: Second Amendment an ‘Important Safeguard against Potential Tyranny of Government’

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has declared that the Second Amendment rights of Americans are “an important safeguard against potential tyranny of government.”

Musk during an interview with CNBC via email, Musk spoke of the importance of the God-given rights enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.

He noted that the right to bear arms serves as a critical check against the possibility of tyrannical governments.

The billionaire also blasted the media’s role in mass shootings and the constant push from the Left to spin tragedies to suit their political agendas.

“Regarding recent events, the shooters are obviously doing this to generate the most amount of attention possible,” Musk told the outlet.

“Why is the media doing exactly what the mass murderers want?

“I strongly believe that the right to bear arms is an important safeguard against potential tyranny of government,” Musk noted.

“Historically, maintaining their power over the people is why those in power did not allow public ownership of guns.”

Musk, who plans to purchase Twitter and transform it into a platform that upholds the principle of free speech, announced last week that he plans to vote Republican.

“In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party,” he tweeted.

“But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.

“Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold …”
