Elon Musk has told Jimmy Fallon to pound sand after the “Tonight Show” host asked the Twitter CEO to “fix” a joke about him that was trending on Wednesday.
Comedy is back on Twitter and its users tweeted various fake messages Tuesday night into Wednesday morning to push the hashtag #RIPJimmyFallon to the top of the trending list.
The original poster said: “Gone but not forgotten.
“Rest easy king. Sept 19, 1974-Nov 15, 2022 #RIPJimmyFallon.”
When it went viral he said: “Holy sh*t, this was a surprise.
“Thank you everyone for the likes and retweets.
“If you like stupid tweets like this feel free to follow me idk.
“Since this is seriously blowing up, thought I’d just comment that this is satire.
“Fallon is alive and hope he’s doing well.”
Other Twitter users piled on with one saying:
“Owner and founder of Jimmy Johns Jimmy Fallon has passed away last night.
“Your sacrifices will never be forgotten. #RIPJimmyFallon.”

Fallon tried to end the joke by tweeting a shameless request to Elon Musk asking him to censor the hashtag.
He said:
“Elon, can you fix this? #RIPJimmyFallon.”
