Fauci Pushes Masks While Admitting There’s No Evidence They Work

Dr. Anthony Fauci is continuing to push for Americans to wear masks to allegedly stop the spread of new Covid variants.

During an appearance on CNN for a fearmongering Covid segment, Fauci argued that members of the general public should be masking up because the face coverings “might be protective.”

However, Fauci admitted during the same CNN interview that there’s no evidence to prove masks are effective in stopping the spread of Covid.

His comments are a far cry from his early-pandemic demands when he insisted mask mandates would curb the spike in cases.

In his former roles as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and Democrat President Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor, Fauci was instrumental in the mandates that forced the wearing of face coverings in public.

In April 2020, Fauci told fearful Americans: “If everybody does that, we’re each protecting each other.

“Because the data is, it’s more efficient to prevent transmitting to others than it is to prevent transmission to yourself.”

Fauci has yet to prove that “data,” however.

People had to wear masks in schools, public transportation, restaurants, and workplaces.

But during his recent appearance on CNN, Fauci was playing a different tune:

“When you’re talking about the effect on the epidemic or the pandemic as a whole, the data are less strong.

“But there are other studies, that show at an individual level, for individuals, they might be protective.”

Fauci didn’t provide any information on these “studies,” however.

Nor did he mention the peer-review study that determined masks made “little to no difference” in the transmission of Covid and other viruses.

The former NIAID chief was responding to questions about a study by Tom Jefferson.

Jefferson is a senior associate tutor at the University of Oxford.

His research concluded that “there is just no evidence that they – masks – make any difference. Full stop [period].”

WATCH:

Fauci’s admission that the data is “less strong” on a population level comes as New Yorkers have been told to mask up over the Labor Day weekend.

The masking campaign comes as New York City claims to be seeing a rise in Covid cases due to two new variants.

Yet, there has been no rise in deaths and most of the population has some form of immunity to the virus.

Nevertheless, NYC’s health department insists that it’s a “good idea” to mask up.

The city’s health officials have not provided any evidence to support these claims, however.
