Federal officials are weighing several charges against Democrat President Joe Biden’s son Hunter that include tax evasion, foreign lobbying, and making false statements, according to reports.
Hunter Biden has been under federal investigation since 2018.
The younger Biden has also recently reignited his mounting scandals after his iCloud account was hacked and leaked online, with videos, images, and text messages exposing his involvement in multiple crimes.
CNN’s Evan Perez said: “The justice department guidelines say that you have to generally stay away from being close to an election, to take any steps like major investigative steps like serving warrants and bringing charges obviously.
“In the end, it’s largely looking at this point, they’re looking at bringing tax charges, as well as false statements related to a gun that Hunter Biden bought during a time that he has now said he was struggling with drug addiction, which would have made him essentially, you know, that he could not have been able to qualify to buy that firearm.
“So those are what the charges that are possible at this point.”

Hunter is also facing some foreign lobbying allegations.
According to Fox News:
“The source told Fox News on Wednesday that Weiss and Justice Department officials were looking into whether to charge Hunter Biden with various tax violations and, more seriously, possible foreign lobbying violations.
“The source said Hunter Biden could face possible false statements charges.
“But the source said no final decision has been made on whether to charge Hunter Biden, and stressed that the investigation is ongoing.
“Fox News first reported in December 2020 that Hunter Biden was a subject/target of the grand jury investigation, according to a well-placed government source.
“According to the source, a ‘target’ means that there is a ‘high probability that person committed a crime,’ while a ‘subject’ is someone you ‘don’t know for sure’ has committed a crime.”
“The federal investigation into Hunter Biden was predicated, in part, by Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) regarding suspicious foreign transactions.”
