A former advisor to Bill Clinton is calling for an investigation into the cover-up of President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline.
The call comes as the lame-duck president goes through the motions of his last days in power.
During a Fox News segment Tuesday, former Clinton pollster Doug Schoen said the media’s cover-up is “worthy of an investigation.”
The remarks from Schoen came after a CBS journalist described Biden’s cognitive decline as the most underreported story of the year.
As Biden now prepares to leave the White House behind, the public is getting confirmation of what was long reported by Slay News and other independent outlets.
The Wall Street Journal published a damning report last week detailing the elaborate steps Biden’s aides took to insulate him from the outside world, and even from his own staff.
During a CBS broadcast Sunday, veteran journalist Jan Crawford called Biden’s “obvious cognitive decline” the most underreported story of 2024.
Schoen, responding days later on Fox, went further and said the corporate media was part of a cover-up.
“In retrospect, it is one of the great unreported stories of our time or any time,” Schoen said.
“I think it is clear, given the Wall Street Journal’s excellent comprehensive reporting that Joe Biden for a number of years, maybe even since 2021 or 2022, was not up to the job, and the mainstream media, for whatever reason, covered up for him,” Schoen told Fox News.
“I think it’s worthy of an investigation, not to blame anyone for any illegal activity, but to understand what happened, why it happened, and how we can avoid it in the future.”
Biden showed obvious signs of mental debility throughout his four years in office.
In opinion surveys, the public repeatedly expressed concern about his fitness for office.
However, the Democrats’ allies in the corporate media did not report on Biden’s decline until the full extent of it was laid bare in his June 27 debate with President Donald Trump.
Once it was clear Biden had no chance of winning re-election, an effort to protect the president from scrutiny gave way to a ruthless pressure campaign.
Instead, Democrats and liberal media urged Biden to drop out.
After three weeks of spirited protest, Biden suspended his campaign and endorsed Kamala Harris.
The Democrats’ plan eventually imploded when Harris went on to suffer a historic loss in the presidential election to Trump.
Biden’s cognitive decline was previously mentioned in Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation of Biden’s handling of classified documents.
The probe ended without charges in February.
Hur said he could not convince a jury to convict an “elderly man with a poor memory.”
This description incensed Democrats, who accused Hur of a political hatchet job.
The situation could not look more different now, however.
Many Democrats blame Biden for their historic election loss to Trump in November.
