Fox News Fires Back at Psaki: ‘Peter Doocy’s Job Is to Elicit Truth from Power for the American Public’

Fox News has fired back at White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki for comments she made attacking the network and its top reporter Peter Doocy.

As Slay News previously reported, Psaki blasted Fox News and said Doocy sounds “like a stupid son of a b*tch.”

She claimed that Fox News “provides” Doocy with “questions” that make him “sound like” he’s “stupid.”

John Roberts said Doocy “makes the decisions on what topics he wants to quiz you on, and develops the questions himself.

“His philosophy is a basic tenet of journalism: Comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable.

“If that makes all of us ‘stupid s.o.b.s’, so be it.”

A Fox News spokesperson issued a statement that said: “In his role as White House correspondent, Peter Doocy’s job is to elicit truth from power for the American public.

“His questions are his own, he is a terrific reporter and we are extremely proud of his work.”

Sara Carter said: “Absolutely @pdoocy is asking the most significant questions that the failed admin refuses to answer…

“Here’s mine: First question, why was Biden shaking hands with the air?

“Second question, why is @PressSec  getting paid by taxpayers, while accepting @MSNBC  offer?”

Psaki went on a podcast hosted by former Obama aides Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor, and took some swipes at Fox News and Peter Doocy.

She was asked by the hosts if “Peter Doocy is a stupid son of a b*tch or does he just play one on TV?”

Psaki said: “He works for a network that provides people with questions that, nothing personal to any individual including Peter Doocy, but might make anyone sound like a stupid son of a b*tch.”

In late January,  Biden was caught on a hot mic calling Doocy a ‘stupid son of a b*tch.”

“Do you think inflation is a political liability in the midterms?” Doocy asked.

“No, it’s a great asset,” Biden said, before saying “More inflation. What a stupid son of a b*tch.”

Doocy said Biden called him after the hot mic video went viral.

Doocy said:

“After years of clips of the president and kind of mixing it up on the campaign trail and during the transition, and here at the White House, within about an hour of that exchange, he called my cell phone and he said, ‘It’s nothing personal, pal.’

“And we went back and forth and we were talking bout just kind of moving forward and I made sure to tell him that I’m always going to try to ask something different than what everybody else is asking.

“And he said, ‘You’ve got to.’

“And that’s a quote from the president.

“So I’ll keep doing it.”
