Fox News has accused its former star anchor Tucker Carlson of breaching his contract with the network after he re-launched his show on Twitter this week.
Episode One of Carlsonโs new show has been an unprecedented smash hit, scoring over 80 million views in under 24 hours for his 10-minute Twitter video.
The letter says: โThis evening we were made aware of Mr. Tucker Carlsonโs appearance on Twitter in a video that lasted over 10 minutes.
โIn connection with such breach and pursuant to the Agreement, Fox expressly reserves all rights and remedies which are available to it at law or equity.โ
โCarlson was told by a senior Fox executive that the networkโs goal is to keep him sidelined until 2025.โ

Carlsonโs lawyers told Axios, the media outlet that broke the story:
โFox defends its very existence on freedom of speech grounds.
โNow they want to take Tucker Carlsonโs right to speak freely away from him because he took to social media to share his thoughts on current events.โ
Glenn Greenwald said:
โThis is pathetic of Fox.
โThey fired Carlson, and now their position is: heโs not allowed to speak.
โHe didnโt go to a competing network.
โHe has no contract with Twitter.
โHeโs just speaking on social media.
โAnd to Fox, thatโs cause to threaten to sue him.
โThey want him quiet.โ
