Gavin Newsom’s In-Laws Leave California for Florida and Donate to DeSantis

The in-laws of Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom have reached their limit and left California for Florida.

Kenneth F. Siebel Jr. and Judith A. Siebel, the parents of Newsom’s wife Jennifer Siebel, even donated to their son-in-law’s nemesis – Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis.

They still own their home in Marin County, California, but they bought a $3.3 million home in Naples, Florida, officially registering as voters in Florida.

According to Fox News, “The voter registration shift occurred as their son-in-law enacted some of the country’s strictest COVID lockdowns, which have widely been juxtaposed to the lack of restrictions in red states like Florida.”

Newsom and DeSantis have been waging a media battle for months.

Newsom has been running ads in Florida that denounce DeSantis and accuse him of putting “freedom under attack.”

Newsom donated $100,000 to the campaign of Charlie Crist, who faces DeSantis in the November election.

DeSantis fired back saying he sees “a lot of California license plates in his state, if you go to California, you ain’t seeing very many Florida license plates.”

From Fox News:

According to contribution records on the Friends of Ron DeSantis PAC website, the Siebel Family Revocable Trust made a $5,000 contribution on April 6, 2022.

That trust is run by Kenneth F. Siebel Jr. and Judith A. Siebel, the parents of Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel, records obtained by Fox News Digital show.

Newsom’s father-in-law Kenneth Siebel has a long history of making donations to GOP candidates, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

His most recent donations include contributions to the campaigns of Republicans Sens. Ron Johnson, Tom Cotton, and Josh Hawley.
