Georgia Breaks Early Voting Record Despite ‘Jim Crow’ Election laws

Georgia has just smashed its early voting record after Democrats claimed the state’s election laws were comparable to “Jim Crow.”

Since 2021, Democrats and their corporate media allies have been telling the American people that Georgia’s election integrity law would suppress voting.

The Left compares the law to Jim Crow – the racial segregation laws that ensured most black people would not be able to vote.

However, the state has seen record-breaking turnout since early voting started on Tuesday.

CNN, an outlet that led the propaganda campaign against the Georgia law, is reporting on the huge voting turnout in the state.

328,000 ballots were cast in Georgia on the first day of early voting, CNN noted.

The figure is a massive increase from the 2020 record of 136,000.

CNN conveniently failed to mention its “Jim Crow” narrative while reporting on the record-breaking numbers.

Gabe Sterling, from Georgia’s secretary of state’s office, announced the numbers in a post on X.

“So with the record-breaking 1st day of early voting and accepted absentees we have had over 328,000 total votes cast so far,” Sterling said.

Georgia’s Republican Gov. Brian Kemp responded to the numbers by calling out the Left’s past false claims.

“For years, Kamala Harris, Stacey Abrams, Joe Biden, and their allies in the media lied about Georgia election laws to raise campaign cash and scare people,” Kemp wrote.

“It was wrong then, and it’s wrong now.

“Here’s the truth: in Georgia, it’s easy to vote and hard to cheat.”

In 2021, Georgia passed a law designed to improve election integrity.

Under the new laws, voter ID became a legal requirement for absentee voting.

It also reduced early voting and updated voter processes and disparities caused by the pandemic.

Drop boxes were also moved to election offices and early voting locations and are only available during business hours.

Counties in the state will also have to certify the results within six days instead of 10 and must complete counting ballots once counting has started.

The law makes it illegal to give money or gifts to voters, including food and drink.

However, it doesn’t make it illegal for poll workers to make self-service water available to those waiting in line to vote, despite claims to the contrary from Democrats.

The law is meant to keep people from soliciting votes by giving gifts, not to harm people waiting to vote.

These changes predictably prompted Democrats and the media to claim the law would lead to voter suppression.

President Joe Biden was among several top Democrats who promoted the false narrative about the law.

“It’s an atrocity,” Biden said in 2021.

“The idea, you want any indication, it has nothing to do with fairness, nothing to do with decency.

“They pass a law saying you can’t provide water for people standing in line, while they’re waiting to vote.

“You don’t need anything else to know that this is nothing but punitive, designed to keep people from voting.

“You can’t provide water for people about to vote? Give me a break.”

Vice President Kamala Harris also called the law voter suppression.

Harris, the Democrats 2024 presidential nominee, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the law is a “renewed attempt to suppress the ability of people to vote.”

Major League Baseball even moved its annual All-Star game from Atlanta because of the law.

The “woke” league moved the game to Denver, which also requires ID to vote.

Denver is also a far less diverse city than Atlanta.

In 2023, the All-Star game returned to Atlanta.

In a complete reversal, CNN now admits that it is easier to vote in Democrat strongholds like Atlanta.

One Atlanta-area voter told CNN that “the lines were out the door” the last time she voted.

“They only had like, maybe like three people working,” the voter said.

“So, people honestly just started leaving because it was like that.

“Yeah, like, ‘This is too long. I can’t sit here (and) wait, I have to go back to work.’

“But here, no, it was easy.”
