Geraldo Rivera Comes Clean: ‘I Was a Product of Affirmative Action over Half a Century Ago’

Geraldo Rivera came clean on his last day at Fox News by admitting that he was a product of affirmative action.

Geraldo got fired from “The Five” and then quit, so he claims, from the rest of Fox News.

On Friday, he appeared on “Fox and Friends” to make his last appearance on the conservative network when he said:

“Affirmative action has just been voted down by the Supreme Court of the United States in a very controversial decision that will impact many people of color.

“I was a product of affirmative action over half a century ago.

“I was selected to make news representing a group of Puerto Rican activists…the rest is history.”

Rivera was responding to the Supreme Court’s landmark ruling on affirmative action this week.

Justice Clarence Thomas said in his opinion: “I hold out enduring hope that this country will live up to its principles so clearly enunciated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States: that all men are created equal, are equal citizens, and must be treated equally before the law.”

On Thursday, Geraldo posted a video to social media claiming he quit Fox News after he was fired from “The Five.”

“Bumpy day on the North Atlantic,” he said on Twitter.

“Anyway, I got fired from @TheFive so I quit Fox.

“After 23 years tomorrow Fox and Friends could be my last appearance on the network.

“Thanks for the memories.”

Geraldo said when he was fired from “The Five”:

“Morning, it’s official, I’m off The Five.

“My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday, June 29th and 30th.

“It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity.

“Being odd man out isn’t always easy.

“For the time being, I’m still Correspondent at Large.”

Geraldo was fired after feuding with star anchor Greg Gutfeld.

It started days after Tucker Carlson was fired by Fox News.

Geraldo said:

“I don’t wish ill on anybody, but there is no doubt as I said at the time-Tucker Carlson’s perverse January 6 conspiracy theory was bullshit.

“Having lost the election President Trump incited an insurrection that sought to undermine our Constitutional process,” he falsely claimed.

Gutfeld quickly put Geraldo in his place.

“You’re a class act Geraldo,” Gutfeld said.

“A real man of the people.”

Days later Geraldo said:

“My appearances today and tomorrow on The Five have been canceled.

“I’m sure there’s a good reason.

“Never fear, I’ll be back week after next.

“Stay safe and happy. Thanks.”
