The Democrats saw their policies come back to haunt them and suffered big losses in elections across the country last night.
Republicans have been cleaning up in local races across the country from school boards to executive offices in towns and cities.
Democrats saw losses across the board, spelling doom for the November midterm elections.
Some wins were expected while others came as a surprise.
In Norman, Oklahoma the GOP candidate flipped a seat and won the Mayor’s race for the first time in 30 years in a district that voted +9 for Biden and +2.5 for Clinton in 2016.
This race should absolutely terrify the Democrats as the main issue was the Left’s “Defund the police” movement.
Democrats may be unlikely to shake the toxic political slogan before the midterms if yesterday’s results are any indication.
Republican Larry Heikkila soared to victory in the runoff race for Norman mayor, defeating Democrat incumbent Breea Clark.
An unofficial vote count shows that Heikkila won 12,999 votes (53 percent) to Clark’s 11,346 votes (47 percent).
Blake Allen broke down the significance of the GOP’s win:

“This city was Clinton +2.5 – Biden +9
“Defund the police has been a massive issue in the city
“Depends who you ask on if they did or not.
“But the City Council/Mayor (all Dems) voted to reallocate a portion of future planned appropriations and it sparked a firestorm
“Norman is a city of 128k people & home to Oklahoma’s flagship university, the University of Oklahoma.
“Just two years ago Democrats controlled every seat on the city council & the mayor’s office.
“Now they have a small majority on the council and have just lost the mayorship.
“A Republican hasn’t held the mayorship here for 30 years.”
