Republicans have vowed to make Democrat President Joe Biden’s son testify under oath about multiple controversies when they take back the House and Senate after the 2022 midterm elections.
Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the top Republican on the House Oversight Committee, said the GOP will call Hunter Biden to testify under oath about “where he gets his money.”
“We have a lot of questions about where he gets his money, from his artwork, and from his consulting deals,” Comer said.
“I’m not going to abuse the subpoena power, but we will use the subpoena power if we feel we have a good case, and we have someone who is not cooperating,” he added.
Rep. Rodney Davis (R-IL), the top Republican on the House Administration Committee, said he will investigate the surety failure of Jan 6.
“We’ll find out what went wrong leading up to January 6 with security posture, and most importantly, we’ll exercise oversight responsibility to make sure that we are in a better position,” Davis said.
Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin said he will probe Pelosi:
“There’s a larger story to be told about January 6.
“The House committee’s not interested in looking at it.
“I mean they’re not asking what Nancy Pelosi knew, when she knew it.
“So, yeah, I think the American public needs a full accounting.
“My questions by and large have not been answered.”
House Minority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana said: “We haven’t rolled out what that agenda would be. Ultimately, you know, we’ve got to work to get the majority back.
“And then we got to start having accountability. We need oversight.”
Rep. Tom Cole of Oklahoma, the top Republican on the House Rules Committee, said:
“There’ll be a lot of pretty aggressive oversight.
“Look, there’s not been much now. And I get it.
“There wasn’t too much oversight, probably, when Trump was there, and we controlled the House.
“That’s just a natural rhythm of politics.
“But, yeah, there’s going to be a demand for it. My gosh, they’ve gotten away with murder here,” he said.

Danielle Brian, the executive director of the government watchdog Project on Government Oversight, said in a statement that Hunter Biden’s attendance at the LA event “undermined the White House’s early claims that neither he, nor the White House, would know who bought his art.”
“The silver lining to this dark cloud is now the rest of us also know the universe of who might be interested in buying the paintings — which will make it easier to track if those people are attempting to curry favor with the White House through the President’s son,” Brian argued.
At the start of his administration, President Biden vowed to avoid even the perception of a conflict of interest after years of accusations against former President Donald Trump that his business and family benefited from his office, including having his daughter and son-in-law hold top White House jobs.
