Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has fired back at Joe Biden after the Democrat president said Governors Abbott and Ron DeSantis (R-FL) are playing politics by shipping migrants north.
Biden said:
“Republicans are playing politics with human beings, using them as props. What they’re doing is simply wrong, it’s un-American, it’s reckless. We have a process in place to manage migrants at the border.
“We’re working to make sure it’s safe and orderly and humane. Republican officials should not interfere with that process by waging a politically political stance.
“It’s long overdue for Senate Republicans to come to the table, provide a pathway for citizenship for Dreamers, those in temporary status, farmworkers, and essential workers.
“We need to modernize our laws so businesses get workers they need and families don’t have to wait decades to be brought back together.
“It’s time to get it done. That’s why we have to win this off-year election.”
Enter Abbott’s Press Secretary Renae Eze who said:
“The White House is full of a bunch of hypocrites, led by the Hypocrite-in-Chief who has been flying planeloads of migrants across the country and oftentimes in the cover of night.
“These migrants willingly chose to go to Washington, D.C., having signed a voluntary consent waiver available in multiple languages upon boarding that they agreed on the destination.
“And they were processed and released by the federal government, who dumped them in small Texas border towns.”
Biden can jet migrants to Westchester, NY in the dark of night…BUT, DeSantis and Abbott can’t send them to DC, Chicago, NYC, & lovely Martha’s Vineyard??? pic.twitter.com/DbFRKEsccX
