Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott has fired back at the Democrats in Washington D.C. who are complaining about his state’s policy to send illegal border crossers to the nation’s capital.
As Slay News previously reported, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said on CBS’s “Face the Nation” with Margaret Brennan that Gov. Abbott was “tricking” migrants into getting on buses to her city.
Abbott’s spokeswoman Renae Eze said: “Border communities are overrun and overwhelmed, and Governor Abbott launched the border bus mission back in April to help provide support to these communities pleading for help where the Biden Administration is dumping migrants.
“With our nation’s capital now experiencing a fraction of the disaster created by President Biden’s reckless open border policies that our state faces every single day, maybe he’ll finally do his job and secure the border,” she said.

Democrat Mayor Bowser complained that homeless shelters in Washington D.C. are filing up with migrants who had crossed the border illegally into Texas.
“I fear that they’re being tricked into nationwide bus trips when their final destinations are places all over the United States of America,” she said.
