Texas Gov. Greg Abbott fired back at Democrat President Joe Biden after a White House spokesperson called the busing of migrants to the nation’s capital on Christmas Eve a “dangerous and shameful stunt.”
Renae Eze, a spokesperson for Abbott, said Biden is the “hypocrite-in-chief” for trashing Texas while the US government is “flying planeloads of migrants across the country and oftentimes in the cover of night.”
Eze said: “These migrants willingly chose to go to Washington, D.C., having signed a voluntary consent waiver available in multiple languages upon boarding that they agreed on the destination.
“And they were processed and released by the federal government, who are dumping them at historic levels in Texas border towns like El Paso, which recently declared a state of emergency because of the Biden-made crisis.”
Abbott said on his Twitter account that Texas has bused over 15,900 migrants to sanctuary cities.
The governor listed some figures in his post:
- Over 8,900 to DC
- Over 4,900 to NYC
- Over 1,500 to Chicago
- Over 630 to Philadelphia
“We’re providing relief to local communities overwhelmed by President Biden’s open border policies,” Abbott added.
“Migrant crossings ‘plummet’ in El Paso as Texas National Guard expands barbwire fence.
“We will continue to deploy the National Guard, razor wire, large container boxes, and building the wall to do all we can to deter illegal immigration caused by Biden.”
Texas has bused over 15,900 migrants to sanctuary cities.

White House spokesperson Abdullah Hasan said earlier:
“Governor Abbott abandoned children on the side of the road in below-freezing temperatures on Christmas Eve without coordinating with any Federal or local authorities.
“As we have repeatedly said, we are willing to work with anyone – Republican or Democrat alike – on real solutions, like the comprehensive immigration reform and border security measures President Biden sent to Congress on his first day in office, but these political games accomplish nothing and only put lives in danger.”
