Oscar-nominated Hollywood legend James Caan has died at age 82, his family announced today.
Cann’s family posted on his Twitter account:
“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the evening of July 6.
“The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.

Caan was born on March 26, 1940, in the Bronx, New York City.
His father was a meat dealer and butcher.
Caan grew up in Sunnyside, Queens.
He went to Michigan State University where played football and was a member of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity.
