Hollywood Elites Turn on George Soros as Power Players Donate to DA Recall Effort

Hollywood elites are finally turning against George Soros, with major power players now backing the effort to recall one of the far-left billionaire’s “woke” prosecutors.

Liberal figures in the upper-echelons of the entertainment industry have started donating to a campaign that seeks to recall the leftist Los Angeles district attorney who was installed by Soros, George Gascón.

Major Hollywood players have declared they are tired of the Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies, in another sign of impending doom for the Democratic Party’s hopes for the midterms.

In cities across America, Democrat leaders are promoting policies that favor felons over citizens and it is backfiring.

People are fed up with the spiraling violent crime rates and want action.

Several Hollywood heavyweights, many of them major Democrat donors, are joining the recall effort to remove Soros-funded Gascón.

According to LA Magazine, the Hollywood elite is now financially backing the official campaign to recall Gascón.

Gascón is just one of the many radical DAs that Soros has installed in cities across America.

All of the Soros-funded prosecutors have allowed violent crime to spiral out of control in their districts with soft policies, and many of them are now facing recall efforts.

The Hollywood heavyweights putting their money into the recall effort include Joe Biden’s nominee to be ambassador to Norway, George Clooney’s longtime producing partner, and a close confidant and major donor to Bill Clinton.

The names LA Mag published should make every single Democrat stand up and take notice.

The list of Hollywood powerbrokers donating to the recall effort includes:

  • George Clooney’s long-time producing partner, Grant Heslov
  • Former 20th Century Fox exec and producer, Jonathan Sheinberg.
  • Cynthia Sikes Yorkin, widow of All in the Family co-creator Bud Yorkin.
  • Lauren King, widow of the late Richard King of King World Productions, syndicator of The Oprah Winfrey Show, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy.
  • Orion Pictures co-founder Mike Medavoy and his wife, Irene Medavoy.
  • Supermarket magnate and President Clinton’s close friend Ron Burkle.
  • President Biden’s pick for ambassador to Norway, billionaire Marc Nathanson
  • Hillary Clinton bundler Jordan Kaplan.

Former celebrities who once donated to Gascon and who are now donating to get him out of there include Sugar Ray Leonard and Carly Steele.

Meanwhile, far-left actress Rosanna Arquette promoted a post on social media by former Beverly Hills mayor Lili Bosse that said: “I am ALL IN. Recall DA George Gascón.”

“The spin that Gascón has used effectively before, that it’s all Trump supporters, is not going to work this time,” says Irene Medavoy.

“People can be liberal in ideology but they don’t want crime in their city.”

Besides outright defectors, Gascon seems to be losing support among his most loyal Hollywood backers too who are staying on the sidelines, at least for now.

Susan Sarandon, former Disney chief Michael Eisner, Netflix founder Reed Hastings, and Kim Kardashian are staying silent on the recall because “nobody wants to be out front on this,” a source told the magazine.

“It’s not the same group waving Trump flags on the green before the 2020 election,” said Jon Hatami.

“The people I’ve met included Democrats and Republicans, some actors, some producers, and a lot of people who have money.”

Gascón spokesman Elise Moore said: “All voters need to do is take one look at the key proponents of the recall effort and they will see it for what it truly is: a politically motivated attempt to undermine the will of the voters.

“District Attorney George Gascón was elected with broad Democratic support in all corners of the County and he continues to have that strong Democratic support today.”

From The Daily Mail:

On Friday, another blow was dealt when former LAPD chief Charlie Beck rescinded his support for Gascon.

Beck, who spent four decades with the LAPD, retired in 2019 after leading the agency for nearly nine years.

He acknowledged knowing Gascon, a former LAPD officer, for 30 years and supporting his bid to become the county’s top prosecutor in 2020, but said he could no longer back him.

‘I based my support for the election of District Attorney George Gascon on the hope he would advance public safety in Los Angeles and because of our close personal relationship of over 30 years,’ Beck said.

‘After observing the negative effects of his policies and practices on public safety, I am compelled to rescind that endorsement.’

Elise Moore, a spokesperson for Gascon’s campaign, told Fox News that it was ‘disappointing that Chief Beck has changed his position but we are respectful of his opinion and the many years of service that he has provided to the people of Los Angeles.’

Los Angeles has seen a 54 percent increase in murders since 2019, a rise in the number of street shootings since 2020, and an increase in the number of armed holdups.

The city has also been shocked by the broad daylight murder of Brianna Kupfer on January 13 by a mentally ill man who stabbed her at random while she worked in an upscale furniture store.

George Soros has invested tens of millions of dollars into building a network of radical-left prosecutors across America in an effort to control the justice system.

In his explosive new book, “The Man Behind the Curtain: Inside the Secret Network of George Soros,” Matt Palumbo exposes how the far-left billionaire uses his global groups to peddle influence around the world.

Palumbo details how Soros uses his wealth to fund a power grab that finds its way right into the upper reaches of Democrat President Joe Biden’s White House.

The hugely popular exposé was recently snubbed from the New York Times “Best Seller” list.

Unsurprisingly, Soros owns millions of dollars worth of stock in the newspaper.

Palumbo’s Man Behind the Curtain” is Slay News’s recommended “Must Read” book.
