Hollywood star Jim Carrey has announced that he is “leaving Twitter” after slamming Elon Musk in a bizarre rant (on Twitter).
The “woke” Canadian actor joins several other celebrities who have closed their account or threatened to leave Twitter since Musk took over the company last month.
Before making his announcement, Carrey posted a rambling meltdown where he appeared to trash Musk.
“Capt Smirk fired 1/2 his crew,” Carrey said.
“He’s banning comics: shadow banning unverified users, boldly going where no unbridled ego has gone before.
“Says, ‘$8/mo is the price of a latte.’ True.
“It’s also cheaper than a T-shirt saying ‘Rob me. I’m a gullible ass!’
“BTW Mars mission? FAKE NEWS.”

Carrey then followed up with a post claiming that he is “leaving Twitter.”
However, like many other “woke” celebrities, Carrey’s account is still active, despite the threats.
“I’m leaving Twitter, but 1st here’s a cartoon I made with my friend Jimmy Hayward,” Carrey said.
“It’s based on my painting of a crazy old Lighthouse Keeper, standing naked in a storm, summoning the angels and shining his lamp to guide us through a treacherous night.
“I love you all so much!”

Other celebrities have left or promised to leave, including “Nine Inch Nails” frontman Tren Reznor.
Speaking about his decision to leave Twitter, Reznor told Billboard: “I’m about to depart.
“We don’t need the arrogance of the billionaire class to feel like they can just come in and solve everything.
“Even without him involved, I just find that it has become such a toxic environment.
“For my mental health, I need to tune out.
“I don’t feel good being there anymore.”
Musk responded to Reznor by shredding the rocker as a “crybaby” for boycotting Twitter.
Actor and director Rob Reiner said:
“Elon Musk is letting a man who led a violent Insurrection to overthrow the United States Government back on this platform.
“Letting the Lies and Disinformation continue to poison the American bloodstream.”
“Elon Musk is a c—,” TV producer Andrew Kimmel added on Twitter.
Blink 182’s Tom DeLonge said:
