House Republicans Pass Bill to Ban Transgenders from Girls’ School Sports Teams

House Republicans have passed a bill to ban transgenders from participating in female athletic programs.

The legislation is called the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act and is sponsored by Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL).

Steube said. “Parents do not want biological men in locker rooms with their daughters, nor do they believe it’s equitable a male can compete with women in female athletics.

“The integrity of women’s sports must be protected.”

The bill passed in a party-line 219-203 vote.

House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said: “This is about protecting women’s sports now and into the future.”

“Biological women and girls should only be competing against other biological women and girls,” Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX) said.

“And I don’t care how many surgeries you have, I don’t care how many chemicals you put into your body.

“You’re not going to be a biological woman.”

Rep. Lisa McClain (R-MI) said: “The new norms in our locker rooms, young girls are being exposed to male genitalia and have to undress themselves and expose their own bodies to these biological males.

“Let’s stop distorting reality.

“It’s beyond disgusting, and I cannot believe that we are subjecting the girls to this kind of exploitation.

“Makes me sick to my stomach.”

Rep. Mark Takano (D-CA) Said:

“We know transgender students already face widespread bullying and discrimination.

“Adding to their pain by targeting their participation in school sports is both wrong and dangerous.”

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said:

“President Biden thinks it’s ok for Lia Thomas, a man, to compete against your daughter in sports.

“Republicans just passed a bill to keep that from happening.”
