House Republicans Form ‘Weaponization of Government’ Select Committee, Led by Jim Jordan

Republicans in the 118th House of Representatives have formed a new “Weaponization of Government” Select Committee that is chaired by Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH).

Jordan and his new Committee seek to dig into the abuse of power by President Joe Biden’s White House, the Democrats, and federal government agencies.

This investigative panel will demand emails and correspondence between the Biden administration and Big Tech companies.

It comes in response to the explosive revelations that have been exposed during Elon Musk’s recent releases of the “Twitter Files.”

Newly elected House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was asked to form the new committee as part of the negotiations that brought him to power, Axios reports.

McCarthy was elected speaker after a hard-fought, contentious battle on the House floor last week as a power and priority battle played out in his own party.

Jordan was one of the 15 members of Congress who nominated McCarthy for speaker last week.

“The probe into communications between tech giants and President Biden’s aides will look for government pressure that could have resulted in censorship or harassment of conservatives — or squelching of debate on polarizing policies, including the CDC on COVID,” Axios reports.

Republicans are willing to issue subpoenas if government personnel and agencies do not comply with the committee’s demands.

The GOP is committed to digging into “the politicization of the FBI.”

Aside from the FBI’s efforts to discredit accurate reporting from the New York Post on Hunter Biden in the run-up to the 2020 presidential election, Republicans will also investigate the allegations of Russian election interference in the lead-up to the 2016 election.

The use of Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) to go after parents who spoke out angrily at school board meetings will also be investigated.

Jordan was instrumental in the discovery that the letter requesting a DOJ investigation into these parents, issued by the National School Boards Association, was actually requested to be written by Attorney General Merrick Garland’s DOJ in the first place.

The head of the NSBA was then given a plum post in the administration.

Biden’s former chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci will also be a focus of this new GOP investigation.

The “Twitter Files” revealed that social media companies were pressured to toe the Democratic Party line on Covid and Covid treatments.

As Slay News previously reported, Twitter boss Elon Musk has been teasing the release of the “Fauci Files.”

Musk has suggested that the files will expose Fauci’s influence on Big Tech to censor information.
