An illegal alien has been arrested and charged for allegedly fatally shooting two sisters in the head in their Texas home last week.
Police booked Jose Santiago Chairez at the Dallas County Jail on charges of capital murder of multiple persons and aggravated assault.
Chairez is also accused of shooting his daughter in the arm.
Sisters Catalina Andrade Valdez, 47, and Merced Andrade Bailon, 43, were found dead in their home in Farmers Branch, Texas, last Friday.
Their bodies were discovered after police responded to a call around 4:20 a.m., according to the Dallas Morning News.
The suspect’s daughter was also in the home when the fatal shooting occurred and survived after being shot in the arm. She told police that she and the sisters were shot by her father. Chairez is being held without bond because he is believed to be in the U.S. illegally, according to jail records, Fox 4 reported.
Valdez and Bailon “were two sisters who were best friends & were beautiful individuals who loved their family & were so devoted to them,” according to Bailon’s daughter Jasmin, who set up a GoFundMe to help pay for memorial service costs.
Police say Chairez was arrested shortly after the killing.
It remains unclear how Chairez knew the sisters as police continue their investigation into the alleged double homicide.
Jail records show that Chairez is being held without bond because he is believed to be in the country illegally.
