Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has declared “victory” after Hamas terrorists launched terror attacks in Israel over the weekend.
Hamas, Iran’s Palestinian terror proxy, killed hundreds of innocent civilians in Israel.
Thousands more have been injured while many have been kidnapped and are feared dead.
Iran funds and arms the terrorist group Hamas, which has ruled Gaza since a coup in 2007.
It also funds and arms other groups, notably Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Palestinian Islamic Jihad also attacked Israel earlier this year, unsuccessfully.
Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has been holding meetings with leaders of Palestinian terror groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the Times of Israel reports.
Official media outlets report that Raisi met with the terror groups on the day after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel over the weekend.
The state news agency IRNA reported:
“Raisi discussed the developments in Palestine in separate phone calls with Ziyad al-Nakhalah, secretary general of the Islamic Jihad Movement, and Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the [Hamas] political bureau.”
According to IRNA, Raisi adds in a letter to Hamas and Islamic Jihad:
“I am congratulating this great and strategic victory, which is a serious warning to all compromisers in the region.”
The outlet didn’t give further details.
The so-called “compromisers in the region” he was referring to are presumably Arab countries that have normalized ties with Israel.
The Palestinian terror attack happened on the Jewish holiday of Shemini Atzeret, the final day of the annual High Holy Day cycle.
Since taking office, Democrat President Joe Biden and his administration have been trying to negotiate a new nuclear deal with Iran.
On the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks this year, Biden announced on September 11 that he was giving Iran $6 billion.
The Biden admin also released several Iranian prisoners.
