Republican Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has vowed to bring Dr. Anthony Fauci to justice after the 2022 midterm elections.
Sen. Paul was interviewed by his father, former presidential candidate Ron Paul, and had some things to say about Fauci’s future if Republicans manage to regain control of the Senate in 2022.
Rand Paul has become Fauci’s nemesis in the Senate; several heated exchanges between the two have grabbed headlines.
Rand Paul optimistic about 2022 election
Senator Paul and his father were both physicians themselves before getting into politics.
The pair thus have strong opinions on America’s most controversial doctor.
Rand Paul told Ron Paul that he is optimistic about Republican chances for retaking the senate in 2022, an event which would give him the power to hold Fauci accountable.
His optimism is supported by nearly every prediction; 2022 is projected to be a very bad year for Democrats nationwide as they seek to cling to their thin majority.
The Pauls expressed their belief that Fauci will be a major issue in the election.
If that’s true then it is one more thing for the Democrats to worry about.
Dr. Fauci is not especially popular with all but the most die-hard establishment liberals.
The rest of the country has made it fairly clear that they are tired of hearing about him.
The best outcome for the country, according to Senator Paul, would be for Fauci to resign after Republicans retake Congress.
Fauci may face consequences for dishonesty
If that doesn’t happen, Senator Paul says that he will immediately move to use subpoena powers to see all of the records Fauci might not want the world to see.
Dr. Fauci may face serious charges if all goes well. At the very least Fauci lied repeatedly in hearing before the United States Senate.
Fauci, an unelected bureaucrat, has a duty to report the truth to the elected officials who represent the American people. His constant dishonesty before the senate violated one of the most important requirements of his position.
Senator Paul caught Fauci in several of those lies relating to gain of function research in the Wuhan lab where some experts believe the virus may have originated.
Fauci repeatedly claimed that the government had never provided funding to Chinese scientists performing gain of function research; Senator Paul played a key role in proving that this was untrue.
The Democrats are certainly in no rush to hold Fauci accountable for misleading the American people, but if Rand Paul has his way, the next senate might.
