Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville claims that President Donald Trump’s “collapse” is allegedly “already underway.”
Carville, a lead strategist on Bill Clinton’s successful 1992 presidential campaign, says he’s urging Democrats to “just sit back.”
He claims that Democrats “don’t need to be aggressive now” because Trump’s “poll numbers are declining.”
During an appearance on Thursday’s broadcast of Fox News’s “Hannity,” Carville urged Democrats to “play possum” and let the so-called “collapse” take place.
“[L]et me back up,” he said.
“We went with our seven-string quarterback, and we lost by a point and a half, and we actually picked up a congressional seat.
“So, if you’re asking me, did I think that she was going to win and she didn’t win?
“Yes, all the polling showed it even it turned out to be a point and a half race, but — and you lost seats, but if you have — and I’m telling the Democrats just sit there, play possum, let them go, let them go, let them go.
Carville, who predicted former Vice President Kamala Harris would win the 2024 election, added, “Poll numbers are declining.
“The collapse is already underway.
“Let’s see when they put the Medicaid budget, where they put the tax, the $4.5 trillion of tax cuts to wealthy people.
“Just let the ball come to you,” he urged.
“We don’t need to be aggressive now. We can just sit back.”

Trump appeared to react to Carville’s remarks in a Truth Social post on Friday morning.
The president said he has “the best polling numbers I’ve ever had.”
“The Democrats, run by broken down losers like James Carville, whose weak of mind and body, are going crazy, and just don’t know what to do,” he added.
Carville further claimed during his Thursday remarks that Democrats are likely to win the race to become governor of Virginia.
Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin is term-limited.
He also claimed that Democrats will take back the majority in the U.S. House next year.
“The Democrats are almost certain to win the Virginia governor’s race, I mean, by — no, not almost,” Carville said.
“They are certain to win it.
“And they’re certain to win the House of Representatives back.”
Carville also accused Republicans of overlooking the issue of unemployment.
“The key issue is, in this century, under Democratic presidents, 50 million jobs have been created, and 1 million jobs under Republicans,” he claimed.
