White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is continuing to dodge questions on Hunter Bidenโs โLaptop from Hellโ and the public demands answers.
Psaki got flustered when New York Post reporter Steven Nelson grilled her over Hunter Bidenโs business dealings in China and Russia.
Instead of addressing the issues, she gave a DC spin answer, claiming to have no confirmation on the reporting.
Nelson wasnโt buying it, however,
โIโve got a quick clarification and two questions about presidential conflicts of interest in foreign affairs,โ he said.
โThe first brief clarification is: The New York Times reported this week that the First Son remains under criminal investigation.
โDoes the president still intend to stay out of that case?โ
PSAKI: โYes.
โItโs the Department of Justice, and I would point you to them.โ
Nelson said: โAnd my two questions about conflicts of interest in foreign affairs.
โFirst, I have a question about Russia and then one about China.
โOn Russia: You told me last year that you were unfamiliar with the Senate report that alleged that the First Son โ or a company linked to the First Son received $3.5 million from the richest woman in Russia.
โSubsequent reporting indicates that President Biden, when he was vice president, had dinner in Georgetown with the same woman in 2015.
โThis, Yelena Baturina, she has not been sanctioned yet by the U.S. government.
โHow is President Biden navigating conflicts of interest when it comes to sanctioning people who have done business with his family?
โAnd can you explain to us what this $3.5 million was for?โ
PSAKI: โI donโt have any confirmation of the accuracy of that report, so I have no more further details.
But Nelson continued to press the press secretary:
Q ย But she hasnโt been sanctioned, though.
PSAKI:ย Go ahead.
Qย ย She hasnโt been sanctioned, though.ย She has โ
PSAKI:ย Thank you.ย Go ahead.
Qย ย I have a question about Russia now.ย My โ
PSAKI:ย I think weโre moving on because we got to get to more people.
Qย ย Iโm sorry.ย Iโm sorry.ย We could โ hold on.
PSAKI:ย Go ahead.
Qย ย My question about the conflict of interests when it comes to China is: Last year, the First Sonโs attorney said that he divested from a Chinese investment fund controlled by Chinese state-owned entities.
We have received not even basic transparency about who bought out his stake, when this happened, and how much money changed hands.
Did he actually divest?ย And if so, can you agree to basic transparency?
PSAKI:ย Heโs a private citizen.ย He doesnโt work for the government.ย Iโd point you to his representatives. Thank you.
Qย ย But thereโs a blaring conflict of interest for his fatherโs role as President, dealing with China.
PSAKI:ย I think weโre done here.ย Thank you very much.
