Jesse Watters Warns Biden Democrats Are Turning on Him: ‘He’s Threatening Their Hold on Power’

Fox News host Jesse Watters has warned President Joe Biden that Democrats are turning against him because he is “threatening their hold on power.”

Speaking during a segment on “The Five,” Watters discussed a poll that found over 50% of Democrats another candidate to run instead of Biden in 2024.

“The Democrats, I know because I know Democrats, they want power,” Watters said.

“That’s the most important thing.

“So this poll acknowledges it.

“They don’t think that Joe Biden can win re-election.

“They think his presidency is so far costing them power in the house.

“Democrats obviously want their agenda enacted and so far Joe Biden has not really been effective in enacting their agenda.

“Democrats want to be inspired.

“That’s why Democrats usually vote for the guy that sends the thrill down their leg.

“Is Joe Biden inspiring Democrats?

“No.

“He can barely make it through a speech on a teleprompter.

“He’s boring and threatening their hold on power.”

Just over half of Democrats say they want their party to nominate a different candidate than Biden in the 2024 presidential election, according to Newsweek.

The poll, released last month by CNN, asked registered Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents who they believe the party “should nominate as the party’s candidate for president in 2024,” giving them the options of Biden or a different candidate.

Forty-five percent of Democrats said the party should renominate Biden, while 51 percent said they preferred an alternative.

Five percent said they had no opinion on the matter.

From CNN:

The survey, conducted in January and February, found that 45% of Democratic and Democratic-leaning voters wanted to see the party renominate Biden in 2024, while 51% preferred a different candidate.

There’s more support in the party for Biden among voters 45 and older (52% of whom want to see him as the nominee again), voters of color (55%), and voters without a college degree (51%).

There’s also a gap between the 48% of self-identified Democrats who want to see Biden renominated and the third of Democratic-leaning independents who felt the same.

The 2024 support for Biden is concentrated among his most ardent backers in the party.

While 70% of Democratic voters who strongly approve of the way he’s handling the job said they’d like to see him renominated, that drops to just 35% among Democrats who said they approve moderately.
