Democrat President Joe Biden didn’t get the warm welcome he was hoping for during his visit to Minnesota to try and push his big infrastructure bill to a suspecting public.
Instead, he was met with large protests and many hecklers.
“These are the jobs of today and tomorrow,” Biden said.
“We’re going to help America win the competition in the 21st century.”
“We’re getting back in the game.
“Places like this are going to train the next generation of workers to do the jobs that my infrastructure law and our Build Back Better Act are going to put into even greater demand,” Biden said.
“We’re going to need more qualified people, and we’re talking about students learning how to repair electric vehicles and batteries and drive trucks.” Republican U.S. Rep. Pete Stauber said.
“When President Joe Biden says he’s coming to Minnesota to promote his failed policies, I was excited, so Minnesotans can see firsthand the crises that have come upon us.”
But it was what happened outside that attracted all the attention.
Biden was heckled by a diverse group of people.
Biden’s supporters, all one of them, tried in vain to overshadow the protesters.
Linda Larson was the only Biden supporter out there, she said: “I think it’s a sad commentary about our nation.
“I want the president to know that we’re here too.”
While there were a large amount of Trump supporters protesting Biden, the largest number were Ethiopian Minnesotans who at one time supported Biden.
“We are out here to be a voice for our people back in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is currently under attack, we’re in a war,” said Solyana Debalke.
“We’re not against him, we’re against his foreign policy against Ethiopia,”
From The New York Post:
One sign said “FJB” in an apparent abbreviation of “F–k Joe Biden.”
“A less coded version just outright said ‘F–k you Biden’ with the U in the F word cleverly drawn to look like a middle finger,” reported White House pool correspondent Todd Gillman of the Dallas Morning News.
“A real middle finger attached to a somewhat rough-looking middle-age man with a beard was upraised as motorcade passed,” Gillman added.
The pool reporter also noted that other signs displayed various messages including “You Suck,” “High Gas – C’mon man” and “Trump still president.”
At least one person wore a shirt reading “Let’s Go Brandon” — a slogan used as a bowdlerized stand-in for “F–k Joe Biden.” The same message appeared on signs and at least one large flag.
