Las Vegas Stabbing Suspect Is Guatemalan National Who Crossed Biden’s Open Border Illegally

The suspect accused of killing two people and injuring six others during a stabbing rampage on the Las Vegas Strip is a Guatemalan national who entered the United States illegally.

Yoni Barrios, 32, is in the U.S. illegally after crossing Democrat President Joe Biden’s open border.

Barrios already has a criminal record in California but is unknown to border officials, a source with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) told Fox News.

According to the arrest report, Barrios arrived at the Las Vegas Strip at approximately 8 a.m. Thursday via bus.

He reportedly showed up at a friend’s house in Vegas but was told he could not stay there.

According to the report, Barrios told the police that other passengers on the bus were making fun of him and he “wasn’t treated like a human being.”

The report says Barrios went to the mall and asked “chauffeurs” for a ride to California.

When that didn’t work he went into the Wynn and talked to a janitor about job opportunities.

At one point, Barrios asked the janitor to report him to ICE so he could get a free ride home to Guatemala, according to the report.

According to Fox News:

“Barrios stabbed eight people — a mix of tourists and residents — just after 11:40 a.m. local time on the sidewalk near the Wynn Las Vegas hotel, police said.

“Two people — Las Vegas residents Brent Allan Hallett, 47, and Maris Mareen DiGiovanni, 30 — died.”

Bill Melugin, a reporter for Fox News who is dominating the border beat, broke the story.

“Per ICE source, the suspect charged in a mass stabbing on the Las Vegas strip that left 2 dead & 6 others injured is a Guatemalan national in the U.S. illegally, & he has a criminal record in California,” Melugin said.

“I’m told ICE had no record of 32 y/o Yoni Barrios before this.”

According to Fox5Vegas:

Barrios then contacted a security guard at the Wynn and told him he was trying to sell his knives so he could get money to go back home.

The security guard, according to the arrest report, “told Barrios to jump in front of a train.”

After exiting the Wynn, Barrios reportedly told the group of four showgirl impersonators that he was a chef.

The report says that one of the girls felt uncomfortable and began to back away. At that point, the report says Barrios then charged at the girl as she started to run away.

The report says she “felt pressure to her back and fell to the ground.” The girl says she then saw Barrios charging towards Maris Digiovanni, one of two victims who died in the incident.

The girl said she was able to get up and ran into the Wynn, where she then reportedly realized she had been stabbed in the back, the report says.

She remained at the Wynn until she was transported to UMC, police said.

Barrios told police that he “thought the women were laughing at him and making fun of his clothing.”
