Democrat President Joe Biden has triggered concerns on social media after a viral video appears to show him offering his hand out to someone, yet no one is there.
After finishing his speech in North Carolina, Biden seems unsure of where to go before holding out his hand for, what some on Twitter called, a “ghost handshake.”
The video has emerged while Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s approval numbers continue to sink.
One of the frequent criticisms of Biden is his constant confusion and public gaffes, leaving many questioning his mental fitness for office.
This issue was further compounded by his performance after the Thursday speech, raising further questions about the president’s faculties.

In a post published minutes after the speech’s conclusion, Cruz re-shared the clip of Biden – the oldest-ever US president – with a caption that included a wide-eyed emoji.Â
Others called Biden’s actions at the end of the speech ‘elder abuse’ and questioned his mental state.
‘Where are the White House and Biden family handlers whose job it is to make him look good?’ wrote Harmeet K. Dhillon, former vice chairwoman of the California Republican Party following the display.Â
