Biden Tells Voters His ‘Policies Helped, Not Hurt’ on Inflation

Democrat President Joe Biden has tried to claim that his policies have “helped” regrading inflation and have “not hurt” the economy.

Biden was grilled on inflation today by CNN White House correspondent Jeremy Diamond.

Questions are mounting against the Biden admin as rising costs threaten every part of the economy.

CNN reporter Pete Muntean reported on a price increase that will hit every American: “NEW RECORD high gas prices.

“AAA reports US average is now $4.37 per gallon, dwarfing previous record set March 11.”

Diamond questioned Biden over his response to the crumbling economy.

“Why do you believe so many Americans believe that your administration is not doing enough to combat inflation?” Diamond asked Biden.

“And do you believe that you and your administration bear some measure of responsibility for the inflation that we’re seeing across the country?”

Biden tried to spin away the truth with a rambling answer that seemed to dodge responsibility.

He said Americans are upset with his administration because “we’re in power.”

“I don’t blame them” he added before trying to dodge the question.

Biden said:

“The vast majority of Americans are hoping that their government just takes care of the problem and they don’t have to think about it in detail, at the kitchen table, at the dinner table.

“And that’s understandable no matter what their background.”

But the CNN reporter pressed on.

“Do you take any responsibility for the inflation in this country?” Diamond asked.

“Do you take any responsibility, your policies?”

“I think our policies helped, not hurt,” Biden responded.

“Think about what they say.”

“The vast majority of the economists think that this is going to be a real tough problem to solve.

“But it’s not because of spending.

“We brought down the deficit.

“The bottom line is, how much does America owe?

“How much in the hole are we going?

“We’re reducing that,” Biden said.

According to Fox Business:

Gas prices hit a new all-time high on May 10, 2022, amid rising inflation and President Biden’s restrictions on oil and gas production.

According to AAA’s average gas price calculator, the national average cost of a regular gallon of gasoline hit $4.374 on Tuesday, the highest ever according to AAA.

The prices come as the European Union edges toward oil sanctions on Russia amid the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.

It also comes amid record-high inflation, with the consumer price index reaching 8.5% in March.

…According to Yardeni Research, increased oil costs suggest the average American household will pay almost $2,000 more for gasoline in 2022, according to a March research note.
