A judge has thrown the book at the Black Lives Matter rioter convicted of shooting and killing retired police captain David Dorn during the BLM riots.
In July, a jury found Stephan Cannon, 26, guilty of first-degree murder.
On Wednesday, Judge Theresa Counts Burke sentenced him to life in prison without parole.
Dorn’s widow, Ann Wood-Dorn, said: “He became a victim of the very thing he fought against.”
Dorn’s daughter, Lisa Dorn, said he was “murdered by the type of young man my father tried to save.”
She previously ask the judge to give Cannon life in prison as a birthday present for her father.
His birthday is October 29.
Dorn’s son, Brian Powell spoke during the sentencing.
“I hope your eyes are woke,” he said.
“You still have time to get everything together and make amends with your maker.”

Dorn, 77, was responding to a burglary alarm at a friend’s pawn shop when he came upon a group of looters.
He was struck four times and died from his injuries.
According to Fox News:
“Dorn and four officers were struck by bullets, while other officers were pelted with rocks and fireworks and 55 businesses were burglarized or damaged across St. Louis during the protests.
“The septuagenarian had served 38 years on the St. Louis police force before working six years as police chief in Moline Acres.
“He had retired from the Moline Acres department in 2014.
“Cannon was convicted of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, stealing $750 or more, unlawful possession of a firearm and three counts of armed criminal action — all felonies.”
Cannon’s defense attorney told the court hood client is not who the Dorn family described him to be, he is not the one who shot Dorn, he is “loving father and a loving son.”
