Vice President Kamala Harris has falsely claimed that she had to “earn everyone’s vote” to win a legitimate primary to become the Democrat presidential nominee.
However, Harris was crowned the party’s nominee without a single vote when President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
Harris did run against Biden in the 2020 Democrat primary but ended her campaign early after a poor performance during the debates.
During Harris’s failed 2020 run, she promoted radical policies that she now claims to have long opposed.
During an interview that aired this week, Harris dodged questions when confronted over her complete reversal on nearly every major policy position she held during her failed 2020 presidential bid.
In between dodging questions, Harris claimed that she legitimately was elected as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.
She made the false claim during a CBS News “60 Minutes” interview that aired Monday night.
“I take it seriously that I have to earn everyone’s vote,” she said.
“This is an election for president of the United States.”
“No one should be able to take for granted that they can just declare themselves a candidate and automatically receive support.
“You have to earn it,” she continued.
“And that’s what I intend to do.”
The interviewer, Bill Whitaker, then confronted Harris over some of the numerous positions she has flipped on.
“You have changed your position on so many things,” he said.
“You were against fracking, now you’re for it.
“You supported looser immigration policies, now you’re tightening them up.
“You were for Medicare for all, now you’re not.
“So many that people don’t truly know what you believe or what you stand for.”
Harris responded by saying that she has traveled the country over the last four years and listened to the voters.
She added that her approach has been to “find common-sense solutions” and to “build consensus.”
She didn’t answer the question.

During a different portion of the interview, she suggested that her election as the party’s nominee was a legitimate process.
Harris was installed after Biden was forced out by Democratic Party elites in mid-July.
Biden was pushed aside following a disastrous debate against President Donald Trump in late June.
It’s widely reported that Harris, along with Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and other top Democrats, strongarmed Biden out of the race.
“I am proud to have earned the support of the vast majority of delegates, and to have been elected the Democratic nominee,” Harris said.
“I am honored to have received the endorsement of leaders around this country from every background and walk of life, to fight in this election over the next month for our democracy.”
