Music star Kanye West has claimed that he asked President Donald Trump to be his “running mate” for his 2024 presidential run.
The update comes after West confirmed last week that he plans to run for president in the 2024 election.
The controversial rapper said on Twitter that he visited Trump at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida earlier this week.
However, President Trump has already launched his own 2024 campaign which has been widely publicized.
West tweeted about his visit to Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday night.
He asked his Twitter followers in a poll that asked, “What you guys think his (Trump’s) response was when I asked him to be my running mate in 2024?”

It’s unclear whether he pitched the vice president position to Trump as a joke, but West does appear to be serious about launching his own campaign, as he did in 2020.

In a video posted to the X17 YouTube Channel on November 20, West appeared with Milo Yiannopoulos and appeared to refer to him as his campaign manager.
West’s 2020 campaign became known for its unpredictability amid claims that he could win over some black voters who may have voted for Democrat President Joe Biden, Reuters noted at the time.
While West had conceded at the time, he immediately appeared to set up expectations for another run.
He posted a picture of himself in front of an election map with the words “WELP Kanye 2024.”
