Gaslighting White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has claimed that lame-duck President Joe Biden was being “truthful” when he repeatedly promised the American people he wouldn’t pardon his convicted felon son Hunter.
Jean-Pierre defended Biden while speaking with reporters on Monday.
As Slay News reported, Biden provoked widespread outrage by issuing a blanket pardon for his son.
The sweeping pardon protects Hunter Biden from his current convictions and other crimes he may have committed over an 11-year span.
In the run-up to the election, Biden and the White House repeatedly promised that he wouldn’t pardon Hunter.
Biden repeated the ledge while he was still running for re-election and after he dropped out.
However, it has now become clear that he was always planning to pardon his son once the election was out of the way.
During a Monday press gaggle, in which video cameras were not present, Jean-Pierre continued to gaslight the American people.
She was asked about the highly controversial pardon
“One of the things that the president always believes is to be truthful to the American people,” she claimed.
However, Biden repeatedly stated on the record that he would not pardon his son.
“That is something that he always truly believes,” Jean-Pierre alleged.

Jean-Pierre pointed to where Biden said in his statement that he has always followed the principle of “just tell the American people the truth.”
In his statement, Biden said:
“Here’s the truth: I believe in the justice system, but as I have wrestled with this, I also believe raw politics has infected this process and it led to a miscarriage of justice – and once I made this decision this weekend, there was no sense in delaying it further.
“I hope Americans will understand why a father and a President would come to this decision.”
Jean-Pierre claimed that Biden just arrived at the decision this weekend, despite contrary reporting.
NBC News reported that Biden had secretly discussed pardoning his son ever since he was convicted of federal gun charges in June.
The president’s plan was to “publicly say he would not pardon his son even though doing so remained on the table.”
Jean-Pierre was further pressed by reporters about Biden saying that his own Department of Justice (DOJ) was effectively broken.
Biden argued that his son was only prosecuted because the DOJ is “infected” with politics.
“He believes in the Justice Department,” Jean-Pierre claimed.
“This is his words. He said this.
“This is the president saying this.”
When asked “how deep is the rot” within the DOJ and “how many selective prosecutions” there are in the department, she responded:
“What I can speak to is this particular case, which is Hunter Biden, who has the last name of the president, who, I just said, there were political opponents who were very clear and very vocal about going after his son.”
