White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has provoked further outrage over President Joe Biden calling half the country “garbage.”
During a White House press briefing on Wednesday, Jean-Pierre claimed that Biden “was not calling Trump supporters garbage.”
As Slay News reported, a video shows Biden making the incendiary remarks about President Donald Trump’s supporters.
During the Zoom call with Democrat voters, Biden said:
“The only garbage I see floating out there is [Trump’s] supporters.”

After the backlash erupted, Biden’s handlers put out a statement attempting to downplay the remarks.
In a post from Biden’s social media accounts, his handlers claimed that by “garbage” he meant “hateful rhetoric” that had allegedly been on display at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally.
However, referring to Trump’s supporters as “hateful rhetoric” doesn’t make sense or fit the context of Biden’s statement.
Jean-Pierre faced questions from the media about the scandal.
However, she chose to gaslight the American people about Biden’s statement rather than address the issue.
“Just to clarify, he was not calling Trump supporters garbage,” Jean-Pierre told reporters, reiterating the statement Biden’s handlers put out to clean up his remarks.
“He does not view Trump supporters or anybody who supports Trump as garbage,” she said.
Jean-Pierre added that Biden has claimed numerous times that he is a “president for all,” including those who did not vote for him in red states and blue states.

However, commentators were not buying it.
many argued this may say more about Jean-Pierre’s estimation of the American public than Biden’s actual statement.
“Breaking wind from BSNBC!” former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee wrote.

“She does know that we can see the video for ourselves?
“That we aren’t as clueless as her boss is?”
Tarrant County GOP chairman Bo French commented:
“It amazes me more people aren’t appalled by the outright lies these people tell.
“We watched the video. He clearly called us garbage.
“I have a feeling the swing voters are done with this kind of BS.”
Videojournalist Nick Sortor wrote:
“JUST IN: Karine Jean-Pierre, while dressed as a piece of Laffy Taffy, says Biden ‘was not calling Trump supporters garbage.’ … even though it’s LITERALLY ON VIDEO.
“Again, these people think you’re stupid.
“Vote accordingly.”
White House press reporter Anthony Hughes scorched Jean-Pierre’s response as “ridiculous.”
“Man was this a gift to Trump,” podcaster Matt Bilinsky quipped.
