Kayleigh McEnany Fires Back at AOC: Democrats Attack Institutions Because ‘They Cannot Win at the Ballot Box’

President Donald Trump’s former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has fired back at celebrity Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for attacking the Supreme Court.

McEnany was responding after AOC called for the impeachment of some Supreme Court justices over recent rulings that didn’t go the Democrats’ way.

Speaking during an appearence on Fox News’s “Hannity,” McEnany noted that Democrats attack institutions that go against their agenda because “they can’t win at the ballot box.”

“Yes and as ‘The Wall Street Journal’ pointed out the root of this problem is this they have been inappropriately using the Supreme Court for decades to get their policy preferences – whether it’s banning a coach from praying on the 50-yard line in silence, whether it’s achieving the end of a nationwide right to abortion despite no evidence of this in precedent, in history and tradition, Ruth Bader Ginsburg has said that,” McEnany said.

“They cannot win at the ballot box, so they must abuse the court and when they don’t get their way, abolish the institution, abolish the electoral college, the court, and get rid of the filibuster.

“When you go back and read what the justices actually said Sean during their confirmation hearings, they invoked the Ginsburg rule which is we’re not going to give any previews or hints as to how we will rule on a case.

“They spoke appropriately,” McEnany noted.

“AOC, Warren they’ll pout all the way to changing the institution because they can’t handle the results,” she said.

Ocasio-Cortez called for the impeachment of Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett on NBC’s Meet The Press

While laying out her case for impeachment, AOC made several false allegations about the court and its justices, without evidence.

Host Chuck Todd said, “Do you think the House Judiciary Committee should begin the process of an investigation there.”

AOC said: “If we allow supreme court nominees to lie under or under oath and secure lifetime appointments to the highest court of the land and then issue, without basis, if you read these opinions, issue without basis, rulings that deeply undermine the human and civil rights of the majority of Americans we must see that through.

“There must be consequences for such a deeply stabilizing action and hostile takeover of our democratic institutions.

“To allow that to stand is to allow it to happen.

“And what makes it particularly dangerous is that it sends a blaring signal to all future nominees that they can now lie to duly elected members of the United States Senate in order to secure Supreme Court confirmations.

Chuck Todd: “Do you think lying at a confirmation hearing is an impeachable offense?”

AOC: “I believe so.

“I believe so.

“I believe lying under oath is an impeachable offense.

“I believe that violating federal law and not disclosing income from political organizations as Clarence Thomas did years ago is also potentially an impeachable offense.

“I believe that that not recusing from cases that one clearly has family members involved in with very deep violations of conflict of interest are also impeachable offenses.

“And I believe that this is something that should be very seriously considered including by members by senators like Joe Manchin and Susan Collins.”
